Hearts of Space

Hearts of Space, the largest quilt yet at 58" wide by 72" long is an exciting quilt through dynamic blues and magentas and creative, inspiring designs surrounding thoughts of space, headed by rainbow and earthly skies of dreamy clouds and edged with small hearts of the night sky. Below the planets, the dynamic turquoise has 2 sets of quilted stars with silver beads in the middle. The backing is a powdery blue sateen organic cotton from Near Sea Naturals created by Harmony Susally (a fiber designer who switched to organics for environmental consciousness) and counts 233+ threads and woven in India. The backing wraps around the edge of the quilt for a healthy 2" border which allows its sheen to accentuate the colors in the main design. Although it is a heaver quilt, it is cuddly and flexible with one layer of 1/4" organic cotton batting. The hand-quilting is very intricate and extensive, following the variety of infinite designs, yet surrounded on the edge with lots of hearts and stars.
